The World Parachuting Championships ended in Dubai yesterday after ten days of adrenaline. And the views were spectacular. The skies were filled with crazy people holding hands in the heavens. Is jumping out of a plane not enough that you have to stand on someone else’s parachute as well?
And they weren’t the only thrill seekers. There was a chap zooming around on the water with a jet pack, like a spaceman, tethered with an umbilical cord to his jet ski. There were teenagers throwing themselves off high-rise platforms onto a giant inflatable bag. And motorcyclists doing backflips over the top.
I love sport, but I can’t cope with the fear and nerves I face at the start of a running race. How do you control that much adrenaline and put it to good use? I will never know, but at least I got some good photographs.
