Cambodia

Cambodia is a great place to visit with children, and only a short flight from Singapore. This ease of travel often means, however, that people fly in to see Angkor Wat for the weekend and fly out again. Stay a little longer and you'll understand more about the country's turbulent history, as well as getting to know what makes people tick.

We stayed only a week, and there is so much to see. We flew into Phnom Penh and out of Siem Reap. You can fly between the two cities too, but again you'll miss a lot of real life. The way by road is long, dusty and hard going; much of the Tarmac has completely disappeared, but it's a great way to see how people live, without being intrusive. The traffic is a bit chaotic so hire a driver.

Here's a few resources to help you on your way:
  • Phnom Penh and the Kymer Rouge
  • Siem Reap and Angkor Wat
  • Film set travel
  • Cambodia in pictures

Have a good trip! We'd love to hear all about it if you want to join us on our Facebook page.
